We represent people with serious personal injuries and wrongful death claims
If you have been seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident, you know the mental and physical anguish that accompanies such an event. A serious motor vehicle accident can be a nightmare. One moment you are driving on I-65 in Alabama, on your way to work, or perhaps looking forward to an evening with your family, or a visit with friends, and the next moment everything has changed. Brain trauma and spinal cord damage are just some of the serious injuries you may sustain. While you may have health insurance, most insurers will make you jump through hoops before they actually cover costs. It is unlikely you can afford hospital expenses on your own, especially if your injuries keep you from working. If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, you need help. When a serious accident occurs, experienced legal representation is a must. David Selby is uniquely qualified to represent plaintiffs in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. David has a background few others can boast. He has previously spent years practicing as an attorney working for the insurance companies, learning about their inner workings and defense strategies.
Although he is located in Birmingham, Alabama, he has handled cases in just about every county and city in the state of Alabama, including, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Anniston, Gadsden, Mobile, Dothan, Huntsville, Florence, Pell City, Auburn/Opelika, Andalusia, Fort Payne, and Selma.
As insurance companies continue on their plan to save every dollar they can and avoid the legal obligations they have to personal injury victims, it’s clear that personal injury victims deserve the best legal help they can find. Despite all the TV ads that say otherwise, the main purpose of insurance companies is to make money. As a result, most insurance adjusters will do everything they can to minimize your claim and their responsibility.
David Selby wants to be the attorney you or a family member can turn to when faced with a serious personal injury or wrongful death.
David Selby is dedicated to protecting your interests and handling your case with personal attention, aggressive advocacy, professionalism, and compassion. David understands that sustaining traumatic and life changing injuries in an accident can be emotionally devastating. With this in mind, David strives to balance this concern with the unique and rigorous demands of the legal system.

Fee Agreements – What Will It Costs Me If Hire You
We offer our legal services on a contingent fee basis. A contingent fee is simply a percentage of the recovery, paid at the conclusion of the case. There is no fee unless we successfully recover compensation for you. One thing that is different about our Fee Agreements is that it is not a one size fits all. We have developed a Progressive Fee Agreement© for our clients in personal injury cases.
Our contingent fee is as low as 25% of the total recovery. While we strongly believe that insurance companies don’t make their best offer until they are staring at a trial date, we also recognize that clients may have different goals and needs when pursuing an injury claim. If an attorney’s fee is less than the standard 40% or even 50% fee, then the client may be able to settle his or her case sooner and still end up with as much money in his pocket as if he had waited a year or more to get to trial. An insurance company may not be willing to pay top dollar but, because the case is settled early and the attorney is not charging the standard fee, the client may choose to accept a lower amount from the insurance company.
Our Progressive Fee Agreement© simply means that the earlier your case is resolved, the lower our percentage fee is. This may enable you to accept a lesser sum from the insurance company but still come out ahead. We will discuss this with you. One of the main reasons we can offer a Progressive Fee Agreement© is based on the type of personal injury cases we handle. That is, we only work with personal injury clients who have sustained serious injuries or may have a wrongful death claim on someone’s behalf.
